Churchill expects to be fired

University of Colorado regents will decide whether to fire professor Ward Churchill after a special meeting and hearing Tuesday. Here’s how the day is scheduled:

8 a.m.: The Board of Regents will meet in public in the University Memorial Center to announce it will go into executive session, behind closed doors.

8:15 a.m. until at least 4 p.m.: In private, regents will be briefed by the board’s attorneys before holding a hearing.

The hearing will include arguments from Churchill and his attorney; university counsel; and the counsel representing CU’s Privilege and Tenure Committee. Each party will have a set amount of time to present its case to the board. Regents can ask questions, but no new evidence can be presented.

The regents will then deliberate.

4 p.m. or later: Regents will meet again in public session in the UMC’s Glenn Miller Ballroom to vote on CU President Hank Brown’s recommendation that Churchill be fired.

Video of the meeting will be streamed online at http://www.cu.edu.

After the meeting: Brown and Regent Pat Hayes, chairwoman of the board, will hold a news conference in UMC Room 235. Media credentials are required, but the conference will also be streamed online.

CU said Thursday that an open microphone will be available at the end of the day for anybody who wants to express “their personal opinions on topics related to the events of the day.”

In another regional case, the judges had to decide whether a class excursion was mandatory for a Muslim girl. In their ruling of 2002, they parroted the language of a fatwa issued two years previously. The former chairman of the Islamic Religious Community in Hesse had stipulated that a Muslim woman not accompanied by a mahram, a male blood relative, must not stray more than 50 miles from her home - because this is the distance a caravan of camels can travel in 24 hours.

Camels are something of an anomaly on the German autobahn these days. Sympathetic judges nonetheless recommended sending the 15-year-old brother along as a mahram. Given her fear of losing her headscarf or violating other religious laws, the schoolgirl’s condition, they argued, was comparable to that of a “partially mentally handicapped person.” She therefore needed somebody to accompany her; otherwise, she should not be forced to take part in the trip, they reasoned.

I think that all Muslim extremists are partially mentally handicap. There's nothing "racist" about pointing out how demanding one group of people are of another, how they continually try to impose their own practices on others. That is where the problem arises, they demand that *everyone* abide by those rules. They DEMAND that the majority accommodate *them*. And then they scream "racism" or "Islamophobia" when they are challenged or denied. As long as we continue to bend over backwards to accommodate them we will continue to spiral ever closer to the Stone Age.

New York City’s Board of Health is considering allowing a person to change their sex on a birth certificate. Guess there are no other pressing issues in New York that the board needs to address.

Separating anatomy from what it means to be a man or a woman, New York City is moving forward with a plan to let people alter the sex on their birth certificate even if they have not had sex-change surgery.

Under the rule being considered by the city’s Board of Health, which is likely to be adopted soon, people born in the city would be able to change the documented sex on their birth certificates by providing affidavits from a doctor and a mental health professional laying out why their patients should be considered members of the opposite sex, and asserting that their proposed change would be permanent.

Applicants would have to have changed their name and shown that they had lived in their adopted gender for at least two years, but there would be no explicit medical requirements.

Sex is a physical reality extended to the chromosomal level. If you have two x chromosomes, you are female. If you have an x and a y, you are male. It doesn’t matter what surgical mutilation, chromosomes determine the sex of a human being not a stroke of the pen!

The San Francisco Chronicle was down. Daily dropped 5.3% to 373,805 and Sunday fell 7.3% to 432,957.

The New York Times lost 3.5% daily to 1,086,798 and 3.5% on Sunday to 1,623,697. Its sister publication, The Boston Globe, reported decreases in daily circulation, down 6.7% to 386,415 and Sunday, down 9.9% to 587,292.

The Washington Post lost daily circulation, which was down 3.3% to 656,297 while Sunday declined 2.6% to 930,619.

Circulation losses at The Wall Street Journal were average, with daily down 1.9% to 2,043,235. The paper's Weekend Edition, however, saw its circulation fall 6.7% to 1,945,830.

Daily circulation at USA Today slipped 1.3% to 2,269,509.

The Chicago Tribune showed slight declines. Daily dropped 1.7% to 576,132 and Sunday decreased 1.3% to 937,907.

Rep. John Murtha appeared on Hardball last night and made an obscene claim, he said that our Marines “killed civilians” in Iraq. This remark was followed by yet another reprehensible statement; Chris Matthews questioned if what Murtha was talking about like My Lai, to which the Congressman said that was “exactly it”.

As far as the incident is concerned, much of it seems to be based on one 9 year old’s version of events. One paragraph of the original Time piece sticks out:

According to Eman, the Marines then entered the living room. “I couldn’t see their faces very well—only their guns sticking into the doorway. I watched them shoot my grandfather, first in the chest and then in the head. Then they killed my granny.” She claims the troops started firing toward the corner of the room where she and her younger brother Abdul Rahman, 8, were hiding; the other adults shielded the children from the bullets but died in the process. Eman says her leg was hit by a piece of metal and Abdul Rahman was shot near his shoulder. “We were lying there, bleeding, and it hurt so much. Afterward, some Iraqi soldiers came. They carried us in their arms. I was crying, shouting ‘Why did you do this to our family?’ And one Iraqi soldier tells me, ‘We didn’t do it. The Americans did.

So let me get this straight? She couldn’t see the faces of the Marines, and then initially thought the Iraqi soldiers had done it, until told by them that it was the Americans.

It smells. For a WHOLE squad to snap would mean at least 13 individual Marines would have needed to be involved. But unlike Murtha I will not jump to conclusions and attempt to proclaim anyone innocent or guilty. There are other statements in the article that are susupect also. But I am too lazy to day to point them out , so go read the article and come to your own conclusion.

Someday Murtha the POS that he is will be facing Chesty Puller one on one; and I will be ringside for that one.
