Doltish Parents of the Year Award

2006 has just started yet we have our first candidates for this award:

When a father and step-mother went on vacation to Las Vegas, to celebrate the New Year, they got a sitter for their new puppies, but left their children at home alone.

The children’s maternal grandmother, who lives about 35 miles away, suspected the boys were left alone and alerted the police. The police department tried for three days to get a hold of the so called parents, leaving multiple messages.

Officers began calling Calero's cell phone Saturday, but he didn't call back until Tuesday. "We get the sense that they felt no urgency for them to return home," Kalinowski said.

Hope they rot in jail.
