According to Wired magazine (1/06) the FBI, Dpeartment of Hoemland Security, and the Alabama Department of Transportation (insert redneck here) have tested a speed trap device that is hidden inside of the reflective lane markers! Of course this will lead to remote ticketing.
I mean come on now, is it not apart of an extended road trip to get there as fast as you can, all the time evading those evil donut eating officers? Someone is bound to find a way around this technology. Until then stay away from Bama! You have been warned.

Eventually, this "ticket by photo proxy" crap will have to end up before the SCOTUS. And it will (hopefully) be struck down.
In the meantime, however, we have to put up with greedy local officials finding yet another way to line their pockets in the name of "public safety." Issuing tickets for speeding has about as much in common with public safety as it does with squirrels dipped in peanut butter.
