It's certainly the product of some boy-wonder's brainstorm to provoke controversy and get their product line noticed. He undoubtedly believes himself terribly clever for it. Rest assured, they'll release some statement claiming the jacket represents the juxtaposition of socialism and democracy as well as the eventual triumph of capitalist society over communism...blahblahblah. You know the deal. Anything to turn a buck.
I have a Soviet naval officer's watch that I used to wear quite frequently. The difference, of course, is that it was an actual product of the old Soviet Union, and I traded a Czech sailor a twenty-dollar Timex for it. He definitely got the better end of that deal. It was built the same way their tanks and airplanes were: very poorly, but in great quantity.
